Sharing my passion with the rest of the world ...
You are unique...
Every person has their own style and choices. Which choices suit you depend on what you like, what your style is, what you want to show and what your hands can make.
To be able to discover your own qualities in an artistic way, you can start a personal process in my ceramics studio!
By learning to make new things you can not only change your own world, but also that of others. In this way you will see, feel and experience what you are good at and believe me, that feels great.
My mission is to empower people's artistic senses through ceramics and help them expand their creativity. Thanks to ceramics, people can learn to cope with stress and they are one step closer to a happier life.
When I was a little girl of 7 years old I was always busy painting and I already had a dream to become a teacher. After that I also started making figurines from bars of soap. I really enjoyed giving those bars of soap new life.
As soon as I was old enough, I chose my education at the academy of fine arts with the direction '' ceramics and glass ''. I went one step further to reach my dream job ...
After my ceramics education I gained a lot of experience with various creative jobs such as: clothing designer, graphic designer, painter and ceramics teacher.
Then I married a Dutch man and came to the Netherlands.
After a long period I was finally able to make my dream come true in the Netherlands.
Have a workspace to create works of art and others.
This is how Utopia Keramiek was born. The writer Thomas More had inspired me to call my studio that. Utopia was his dreamland and his main goal was that people in that country could live happily together.
My personal motto:
"Be the way you look or look the way you are" - Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi
Alexandrina: “I started with the lessons at Funda as a blank canvas, I had no experience whatsoever with clay or any other creative hobby.
Learning about ceramics was on my bucket list and the time seemed right to try it. How lucky that I ended up at Utopia ... in a short time I have already learned and created so much thanks to the good explanation and the necessary patience of Funda.
Funda is an expert in everything that has to do with ceramics and she can perfectly pass this passion on to her students. I can therefore only heartily recommend the lessons at Utopia ''
