About Funda Özyer
CERAMIC ARTIST
Dear visitor of this website,
My name is Funda Özyer and I believe I can help you develop yourself through a valuable experience, where you get to know and educate yourself thanks to my ceramics classes.
My vision of ceramics is like an infinite sea. There are many different ways and techniques to give clay shape and color. I believe it is very special that you can make such beautiful things from a hunk of clay, which you can also use during your daily routine.
To me, sculpting means more than just playing with a piece of clay and I hope that I can further inform and inspire you in this, during my soothing courses and workshops.
I was born in Istanbul in Turkey, I studied ceramics and glass at the Academy of Fine Arts (Mimar Sinan) and graduated in 1994.
In Turkey I worked as a clothing designer and as a columnist & reporter for a regional newspaper. I also worked as a general secretary at an association for people with disabilities and I have more than 10 years of experience in the Netherlands as a ceramic artist and teacher.
I make ceramics from my heart. It is a great passion of mine and I love working with clay and sharing my experiences with others.
On this website you can find my artworks, workshops & courses in ceramics. I also work through commission.
